Featured Speaker
Lee Rainie, Director of the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, will address the luncheon on Monday, September 30. For more than a decade, Mr. Rainie has analyzed the impacts of changing technology on people’s behavior and lives. Mr. Rainie is co-author of the new book Networked: The New Social Operating System, which explores how our technology-driven environment “expands opportunities for learning, problem solving, decision making, and personal interaction.”
Keynote Speaker
Chris Estes, State Chief Information Officer for North Carolina, will address the luncheon on Tuesday, October 1. Governor Pat McCrory appointed Mr. Estes as the state’s Chief Information Officer in January 2013. By statute, the State CIO has statewide responsibilities for IT strategy, standards, security, procurement, project oversight and enterprise-shared service to state agencies and others. Mr. Estes has twenty years of experience across the manufacturing, hi-tech, and financial services industries for leading brands PwC, IBM, BearingPoint, EMC and most recently Booz Allen Hamilton, where he was a Principal in the Strategy, Technology, and Innovation practice.

The Raleigh Convention Center is located downtown at 500 South Salisbury Street. Public parking garages are available nearby. The Marriott is located at 500 Fayetteville Street and is just across the street from the convention center’s main lobby entrance.

Wherever you want to go downtown, Raleigh’s R-Line makes it easy to get there. The R-Line is a FREE, environmentally friendly bus that can take you all around downtown Raleigh. It stops outside the Convention Center’s main lobby entrance on Salisbury Street every 10-15 minutes (Sun 1 pm – 8 pm; Mon & Tue 7 am – 11 pm).
