The NC3ADL 2013 conference theme eQUAKE – Shake It Up! is an acronym for: e-learning, quality, universal design, apps, knowledge, and engagement. Over 100 unique presentations focus on these topics, and much, much more! The sessions include a wide range of distance education teaching and learning resources, student services, technology, continuous quality improvement initiatives, library services, the CIS redesign, Virtual Learning Community (VLC) resources, State Authorization, Web 2.0 tools, NCLOR collections and learning objects, SREB essentials, NC Community College system-wide resources, e-learning vendor product and service demonstrations, and multiple sessions to focus on best practices for quality teaching techniques for the blended and online classroom environments.

The conference will begin Sunday, September 29 with hands-on workshops scheduled from 2-4 p.m., concluding with one-hour sessions in the 4:15-5:15 p.m. timeslot. A Professional Networking Social will be provided at A 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Come enjoy the camaraderie and great food! This is an excellent opportunity to connect with the NC3ADL community.

Monday, Sept. 30, begins with a continental breakfast before participants make decisions on which of the 55 sessions they will choose to attend throughout the day. At noon conference goers will enjoy a formal luncheon and featured address by a keynote speaker.

The Monday evening social offers another wonderful opportunity to spend time together while enjoying a reception featuring the bluegrass band “The Outliers.” Afterwards, attendees can enjoy the rest of their evening checking out the nightlife in downtown Raleigh. The free Raleigh R-line bus continuously circles the city dropping off passengers at their destinations.

Tuesday, October 1, begins with another continental breakfast from 7:00 – 8:30 a.m. Attendees will choose from a schedule of 33 sessions beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be served at noon in the ballroom. The annual NC3ADL business meeting, awards presentation, and keynote address will conclude the conference.

The conference promises to be an outstanding professional development experience for all attendees. We hope you will be a part of the eQUAKE – as we break down barriers in e-learning, and look to the horizon for new opportunities. The NC3ADL conference planning committee is confident that we will all leave with a spirit of community in moving forward and the hope of a productive and successful tomorrow for the students and communities we all serve.
